Question: Do I need insurance?
Answer: No, but we strongly recommend that you have appropriate cover for you and your bike. CTC are providing all participants with an exclusive three month Great Tour CTC Membership Package which will provide riders with £10m third party insurance, members 'cycle' magazine, discounts on bikes and products, equipment advice, access to exclusive theft and insurance products…and much more!

Question: What do with my luggage?
Answer: If you are on a week/64 day package you will be given a holdall on the first day of your ride which all of your things must fit in. We are unable to take anything extra which does not fit inside this bag.
Question: Do I need to bring my own food?
64 Days/1 week: you will not need any food as you are fully catered throughout your stay
1 Day: you will be provided with lunch on the day of your ride
Question: Are spare parts available?
Answer: Yes, for most common bike at each feed station
Question: What happens if I get lost or get into difficulties on the day?
Answer: On the day/week/entirety of the event you will be given a contact number for our ride control, who will help with any issues.
Question: Do I need to wear a cycle helmet?
Answer: You must wear a cycle helmet to take part.
Question: How old do I need to be to take part?
Answer: You must be at least 16 on the day of the stage you're taking part in; if you are 18 or under you must be accompanied by an adult.
Question: What toilet facilities are available?
Answer: There will be toilets at the start and finish, there will also be various toilet stops along the way (lunch stop).
Question: What shall I do with my belongings?
Answer: Your belongings/valuables should be l carried with you or put in a safe location at your discretion.
Question: Are there any breaks?
Answer: There will be 3 food/drink breaks per stage there may also be added stops if a picturesque photo moment arises.
Question: What time does it start?
Answer: Registration will start approx. at 7.30am and close at 8.30am. The ride with start approx. 8.30am dependant on stage- further details of exact times will be sent nearer the time.
Question: Is this a closed road event?
Answer: No, there will be some off road paths along the route as well as general highway roads.
Question: If I am on an accommodation pack what sort of accommodation will I be staying in?
Answer: You will be staying in a range of accommodation types which include hostels, universities, campsites, village halls and other exciting places to add to the great experience.
Question: Am I able to stay in accommodation if I want to?
By no means is the accommodation provided compulsory. Additional accommodation will need to be funded by the person/s who are unwilling to stay in the accommodation provided by the organisers.
